As we come to the end of this month, known as youth month in South Africa, I reflect on the past and look forward to the future. It is imperative to change the way we look at or do things. Surely we are in agreement that complaining is not going to take us where we desperately want to go. “If you keep doing what you are doing, you will keep getting what you are getting”, – Jim Rohn. We ought to pause and think about a way forward, we cannot keep clinging onto what does not serve any purpose to us.
Let’s explore the opportunities at hand
Life is not the same, the way things were done in the past is totally different today. Technology has taken over our livelihood and the way we do things. With it things are made easier to do with little effort. We are exposed to a wide spectrum of communication channels that are instant, convenient and cheaper. These have bred a world full of opportunities that allow innovation and creativity.
The quest of every young mind living in this world, not just in this country, is affordability and comfort. Today the business market has been saturated. Question is, which businesses are more lucrative enough to create employment opportunities annually for the youth? With inflation always in yo-yo mode most firms are more keen to cut down on costs than create more job openings because more employees may mean more expenses. But alas the development of apps has also come with opportunities. Believe it or not, socializing can possibly be your daily bread. With a pinch of creativity and a leap of faith into the innovation wagon, all you need to do is explore opportunities on social media and app world.
