Reflecting on Mandela Day

On Mandela Day the eNitiaters spent their 67 minutes with the beautiful kids of Dimphonyana Tsa Lapeng – a home in Olievenhoutbosch that is ably run by Mama Asnath Teffo and her daughter Shalate. The 7 of us were helping out with the various activities of the day.  Spending time with the kids helped us reflect on life and participating in some of their activities definitely got me out of my comfort zone.

I have seen people baking bread, and I finally got a chance to do it myself on Mandela Day. What a great experience 😇

I know for sure that fellow eNitiaters also learned something new in their allocated roles on the day.

The warmth and love of the people taking care of the children at Dimphonyana is just so amazing. We are thankful and appreciative of such people who have beautiful passions. They surely do make a big difference in this world. This just shows how much the world would be a better place if we all followed our passions.

Reflecting on Mandela day as a team, the eNitiaters thought this shouldn’t be a once a year activity. There is more we can do as a team, it doesn’t always have to be huge donations or monetary sponsorship. We can always give away our time and do something nice for them. As a company, our aim is to participate and be more involved in these kinds of eNitiatives.
