I am not a vendor, I am a Zulu

Working in digital content marketing in Mzansi can be challenging, given the diversity of our 11 official languages. While going through my archives, I came across this Idols SA video below, which reminded me how easy it is for a misunderstanding to arise based on a simple word.

Briefly about this video. There is a South African tribe called VhaVenda, or Venda for short. Pronunciation of this word is similar to vendor, an English word. That is where the confusion arose in the discourse between the Idols SA judge, Gareth Cliff, and a contestant.

As they say, there is no master of pronunciation!
