Google is always the answer

I am ashamed to say I have added to the masses that did not realise that Google had changed their logo this past week.

Even more embarrassing is the mere fact that I work in the social media and digital space.

How I missed this news? No idea. I am just guilty!

Pardon my frequent use of the word “Google” in this blog, let’s just say it was the only way to make the point stick.

A thousand apologies to the “sensitive”reader, this may cause a little bit of an irritation I suppose.

So it’s undoubtedly known that Google is one of the most credible and reliable as a search engine.

I actually can not think of any other that does a better job than Google.

It has evolved a lot over the past years, adding more products to the brand or/and simply improving on existing ones.

There was a time when the desktop or PC was the only device that could be used to have access, now we have mobile phones, TVs, watches, tablets, the dashboard in your car, and your desktop.

There is so much integration that is happening with Google Products and Services.

All these connected devices are in every aspect of our every day lives. Google really is the answer.

In modern day life you will have to remotely interact with a Google service weather intentionally or unintentionally.

From the time you wake up, your alarm is on your Android powered phone, to the time you turn on your home thermostat from Nest owned by Google.

From the time you drive to work and try navigate around traffic with Waze, an app owned by Google which in turn feeds all traffic data to Google Maps.

When you get to the office, you check your mail on your Gmail account which is all Google.

While using Google Chrome the browser, from Google.

While in your mail box, you copy some text or phrase you want more information on and paste it in google search and after several clicks you end up at Google owned YouTube.

I know there’s so much repetition of the word “Google” (chuckles) here but that’s because most of our everyday activities involves interaction with Google.

This is just a random tech aware person’s interaction with Google.

There so much more connections to Google than you can imagine.

Like I said; Google is the answer.

I think as a company they’ve managed to ‘own’ the internet.

Making it impossible for you to go online without interacting with anything related to Google.

They are enjoying so much success so much that their name has made it to the Oxford dictionary as a noun; a doing word.

“Can you google the meaning of…”. Google is now also a doing word: to Google = To Search (online).

If you’re stuck with a problem in any industry or context and you need a solution, you can just GOOGLE the issue and walla; you get a bunch of solutions.

“This isn’t the first time we’ve changed our look and it probably won’t be the last, but we think today’s update is a great reflection of all the ways Google works for you across Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and many others.

We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future.”
