South African born comedian, Trevor Noah, is set to replace the legendary Jon Stewart later this year as the new host of America’s popular late night talk show,”The Daily Show” on Comedy Central.
Trevor Noah has previously featured on the show, and has now instantly been promoted to be the talk show host.
Trevor Noah has never shied away from South African politics and has been known to be very straight-forward and opinionated in his tweets which are currently under scrutiny by the masses on twitter.
What did Trevor do right?
Although not known to many Americans, Trevor has been performing around the world with sold-out shows making him an international figure.
He has managed to constantly stay relevant by reinventing his brand and featuring on a number of South African hit shows and also being associated with Major South African corporate brands like Cell C over the years.

Jon Stewart is considered a legend and has been with the show for 16 years and has a strong fan base.
The Daily show was under tremendous pressure to fill that gap and luckily for Trevor, he had a quality the show could use, which was not only comedy but an international perspective on pressing issues.
With technology in the forefront, it is always important to be able to position your brand and business in-line with current market trends.
Ultimately, both “The daily show” and Trevor have gained a form of re-branding in their market positioning.
If both entities manage to master this venture they will gain a competitive edge in the market, with fresh and relevant content.
